have a pot of tea.
imagine sipping from a warm pot of tea.
when you take that first sip,
what type of tea did you imagine drinking?
is it light?
bitter?
sweet?
was the flavor,
a delicate blend of chamomile and honey?
soothing your senses with its gentle sweetness?
'cause in a world transformed by a pandemic,
a pot of tea became a sanctuary.
its warmth embraced us,
a refuge from realities.
throughout the pandemic,
our lives transformed in unpredictable ways.
in that tranquil moment,
dreams are woven into reality.
dreams intertwined with reality,
a tapestry woven with hope and hardship.
so did you dream a dream?
'cause we did.
ever wonder how one pandemic has changed all of us.
for the better or not,
it depend.
across digital landscapes,
crossing oceans.
we found solace in newfound friendships from corners of the world we'd never have explored otherwise.
new friendships blossomed,
transcending borders,
defying oceans.
oceans were crossed,
not just in miles but in experiences shared.
we navigated this uncharted territory,
how was yours like?
ours was wild.
our shared journey wild and untamed.
some said sometimes it takes ten years to get that one year that changes your life,
ours did.
let me tell you our story for CreateTogether.
and you can decide on what you think.
life at first farewell.
from afar,
sometimes, it thinks about you,
does it ache on purpose?
how about you?
are you the same, as usual?
do you see the same sky, the same moon, that it sees here?
don't dwell on it.
it floats, it flows, it drifts—
it tangles in the wind like forgotten kite strings,
& it falls, slowly, like autumn leaves,
you, you—
from a distant place,
do you know someone who once missed you?
it thinks of you.
some say love's greatest ache is when it's gone.
but few mention
the cracks of friendship ache even more-so,
like the splintering of old wood.
once inseparable,
yet everyone's replaceable,
just like work,
like cogs in a machine.
once, they were inseparable.
endings are beginnings too.
it wonders,
does its name ever crosses your mind?
tongue-tied, do your tear-droplets fall like a silent rain against the bathroom tiles?
or is it just it?
it thought it always had you,
but the plans unraveled,
like threads pulled from a favorite sweater.
they swore it'd last.
now, it wonders where it went wrong.
all those nights talking,
staying over in rooms filled with whistled dreams—
it wishes it had listened,
but it messed up.
now, it sees pictures on its phone,
laughing faces,
moments frozen in a past chapter,
of a story,
it thought you'd stay for a while.
did it tell you those jokes?
do you still remember the way you both laughed,
until your sides ached,
& the stars began to fade?
why is it so hard to see until you're gone?
it never imagined an end,
but endings sneak up quietly,
& suddenly, everything changes.
it's kept so much inside.
does the aching stop when its name drops,
or does it echo in the silence?
it never thought those nights would end,
but an ending is just a new beginning,
with someone else.
once, they were everything.
now, they're nothing but bubble foams.
you'll see new faces in its place.
it and its.
but this isn't farewell forever;
even in death,
remember to smile, to live, to love,
as it floats away,
like a shadow chasing bubbles of sunlight,
it's you guys—have fun;
