have a sip of tea - life at first what if

life at first what if.
sh*tney said it tried.
it'd like to blame it all on life.
stranger danger.
where online is the new living room,
where they meet without ever meeting,
where faces blur behind blue glass,
& hearts lag in seconds.
almost is never enough.
maybe they weren't right.
but that's a lie,
that's a lie.
it goes to it
like the first snowfall,
melting on arrival,
while somewhere else,
sh*tney is still sweating.
& bazagonas,
they can deny it all they want,
but in time,
sh*tney feelings will show.
let them see
what they've done.
'cause sooner or later,
bazagonas will wonder
why they gave up.
bazagona spoke.
it knew what it wanted.
it won't fall for waterfalls,
only watch them,
from a safe, dry distance.
the truth is, everyone knows,
almost...
almost is never enough.
the world sees a star,
but sh*tney sees a cl...instead,
the sound before the light,
the silence before the applause.
so close to being in love,
if only it had known
that it wanted it.
it speaks to those
who cannot answer,
texts to the dead,
whistles to the wind.
the way it wanted it,
then maybe
bazagonas wouldn't be
two worlds apart.
people mourn the dead,
but who mourns grief itself?
grief,
that restless echo
that refuses to leave the room.
right here,
in each others' arms,
bazagonas almost,
almost knew what love was.
grief needs no logic,
only space,
a hollow
where breath can rest,
where tears can stretch their limbs.
but almost is never enough.
if sh*tney could change the world overnight,
there'd be no such thing as goodbye.
sometimes the most soothing converstions
are the ones no one will ever hear.
pixels fade to black,
but hearts keep buffering.
it'd be standing
right where it was.
love,
it's not what it expect to get,
but what we still give,
even when it's gone.
& bazagonas would get
the chance bazagonas deserve,
try to deny it
as much as sh*tney wants.
marriage,
fifty years long,
& ten of them may be the worst,
a roller coaster without rails,
a dizzy miracle
that few can keep their promise through:
"til death do us part."
almost,
but almost is never enough.
if sh*tney could change the world overnight,
there'd be no such thing as goodbye.
it isn’t the glamour
the movies promise,
it’s quieter,
sharper,
made of compromises.
what if they didn't say goodbye.
say good goodbye;
