The Undefeated Clown vs a Puppet

You should take a moment to stop, listen, and reflect. Think about it.
The situation in America right now is fascinating.
People are divided and split literally right now, with relationships ending over disagreements about a man who might soon hold office. The advice to "not let politics ruin your relationships" seems harder to follow than ever. We’re always told to respect others' choices—until those choices don’t align with our own values. Now, everyone has to decide where they stand on issue that may clash with their values, and whether they can agree or not.
Some people feel betrayed, believing that their party has been taken over by big corporations and no longer represents them. Others argue that it's about supporting the party, not necessarily the man leading it—even if they see him as a clown. They claim he has enough wealth to run without corporate backing, unlike his opponents, which shows that a big corporation like the pharmaceutical industry isn’t misrepresenting the people or pulling the strings, as they believe is happening with his opponent as a puppet. This presidential campaign alone cost $1.3 billion in ads, yet months ago, these same parties said there was no money to fund essential needs, like saving lives in crises such as the conflict in the Middle East with Palestine and Israel in Gaza, and the recent hurricane disaster. This raises questions about priorities. Think about that.
Meanwhile, some people feel disillusioned and don’t believe their votes matter. Some didn’t vote at all, or chose third-party options. Reactions vary—some feel disappointed in the result, while others see it as an opportunity for change. The loss of a woman of color in the race against a Caucasian man also sparked conversations about race and corporate control. Others think the loss may have been due to a woman of color running against a Caucasian man, and that many citizens aren’t ready for a woman to lead—let alone a woman of color. Additionally, there’s a belief that she could be controlled by big corporations as a puppet, which further drove a wedge. Figures like Bernie Sanders noted that the working class feels abandoned by their own party, which is why many turned their heads away from it. Sanders also pointed out that since the party abandoned the working class, it’s no surprise that the working class has now abandoned them as well. So, they're angry and want change. Do you think so? Moreover, the Middle East issue, particularly the actions of the Biden administration, has caused a rift within their own party. At first, his administration pushed the Gaza issue under the rug while Israel was on a killing spree, initially placing the blame on Palestine by using the news to justify it and then downplaying the situation. Meanwhile, Harris was photographed with military troops, implying they were supposed to be helping save lives during the hurricanes, yet no helicopters, birdy, were spotted on the ground. Instead of using those resources to help during the hurricanes disaster, this backfired on her and slapped her in the face as people spoke out about it. The community had to plead for help, with citizens and local groups sending aid. Where was the support from Harris or the Biden administration beyond the photos and data claiming they helped? The people on the ground never saw it. Think about that.
Then you hear others saying that when the "clown" is in office, he will push the abortion ban further. Concerns about a potential abortion ban under the new administration are also sprouting. But if you can read, you’d know Roe v. Wade is already overturned, and abortion laws are now in the hands of states. The abortion ban is happening right now, but the "clown" didn’t make that happen, as people claim—he wasn’t even in office when it was passed. Biden was. Your senators, neighbors, teachers, coworkers, friends, family, mayors, and other politicians voted for it. States have since passed their own laws. This didn’t happen because of the "clown"; it happened under Biden’s administration, with senators, governors, and state legislatures driving these decisions. As Amanda Nguyen, founder of the nonprofit Rise, noted, laws are meant to serve the people, and it’s up to us to push for change when laws don’t serve us. A new precedent needs to be set, and efforts must be made to push for change. We’ve seen this in the fight for protections around rape kits, which the government was going to destroy it, as well as other important issues in recent years. Change was needed, and change happened. New laws have been made over the past 10 years to address it.
Then, we hear the vocal criticism from those saying, "He’s not my/our president." As for the divisive rhetoric around immigration and the border wall, people claim this future president will be anti-immigrant. But it's worth questioning if these promises are just a tactic to gain support. Please use your brain—he said the same thing before, but have you seen any wall finished? He is a businessman, and like any skilled strategist, he understands what some citizens want to hear in order to win support. This is a common tactic in politics, where candidates often tailor their rhetoric to resonate with the electorate’s concerns, fears, and aspirations. By appealing directly to what voters perceive as their immediate interests, he was able to position himself as a relatable figure, despite any inconsistencies in his policies. This approach leverages the power of narrative and persuasion, which are key elements in modern political campaigns, allowing him to consolidate a base even if his promises were not fully realized.
This dynamic underscores the importance of critical thinking in the political process. It’s essential for voters to not only listen to what candidates say but also evaluate their actions, consistency, and the feasibility of their proposals.
Look at your own state and see who is in office—your senators, House of Representatives, judges, mayors, etc. As you're voting for your House of Representatives, senators, or your local's voices to be your voices, remember, they’re also the ones who blocked decisions that didn’t align with your values when he was in office before, and they can still do so now. Your voice matters now more than ever. Use your brain. Hate and division are sprouting, but the true power lies with those in state and local offices—your senators, representatives, judges, and mayors. They’ll be the ones enforcing and upholding the laws that are now taking shape. They are the ones who will uphold these new laws. How are you helping them? What role are you playing in this process? Many people say they were shocked by the outcome, but what were you doing during the campaign? Just posting that you "voted" isn’t enough. Did you encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to vote? Were you vocal about it? Did you help the party you believe in by handing out flyers, volunteering, or physically supporting the campaign? No action is still an action.
Another aspect that people didn’t like was Harris discussing the tax proposals her administration introduced, which were quickly torn apart by tax experts. Meanwhile, the "clown" leveraged big figures like Elon Musk to gain support. Harris used celebrities to try to win people over, but Musk, a billionaire who arguably has the power to "pay" these celebrities, represents a far bigger influence. Which one is truly the bigger shot?
Then there are those who were "shocked" that their own friends and family voted differently. Why were you shocked? If they’re your family or friends, and you’ve talked to them, either vocally or silently, you should have already known how they were going to vote. If you didn’t, then you didn’t do your part. A whole bunch of celebrities endorsed her, yet she still lost. Meanwhile, the "clown" was flying around the country like a circus act, flipping states, even after two assassinations, two impeachments, and countless scandals. Hurricanes hit, homes were lost, lives were devastated—and he was still out there speaking and campaigning all night. While you were sleeping last night, he kept moving and speaking all night.
Where were you this weekend, during what was supposed to be the most important campaign of your lives? Were you traveling, partying, eating, or gaming? Think about that. So, are you going to spend the next four years whining about the outcome, or will you shut up and make him work for his seat?
From now to inauguration day, in 10 weeks, the transition of power will happen, and the "clown" will take back his seat as the future president. People need to figure themselves out because reading " news" and talking about "their emotions" or how hurt they are won't change the facts, period—he won. Americans have a choice: dwell on the emotions and disappointments, or focus on how to make the system work for them and keep fighting for what they believe in. Now is the time to focus on how to keep fighting for what you believe in help the future, and work to make the system align with your values in the future.
Lastly, do you know who has the power to create change, a voice? Scroll up and read the first word of this again.
The choice is yours;
