Have you ever pursued a dream, only to find it transformed into a harrowing nightmare? The very thing you longed at night for became a source of anguish, leaving you shattered and questioning your choices, your existence, and your sense of self. A similar experience unfolded in the life of Amanda Nguyen, who earned a Nobel Prize in 2019. Amanda Nguyen's life took a turn when her cherished dream of attending Harvard ended in a devastating incident on campus.

The trauma shattered her world, leaving her grappling with doubt and reprogramming herself amidst the passing of time, family, and friends. Those who were meant to safeguard her shattered her trust in the legal system by potentially discarding the rape kit evidence after six months. In her vulnerable state, another aspiration emerged - to become an astronaut. She successfully secured a spot in the program. Yet, the demands took a toll on her body. Have you ever attained a cherished goal, only to face unforeseen challenges shortly after?

Astonishingly, she achieved this dream too, yet her body bore the scars of past trauma. It's a profound story of triumph over adversity, where Amanda faced a choice: to let her experiences break her, or to rise up and faced the choice to either succumb to the adversity she endured or rise up against the injustice.

What a remarkable individual after facing a traumatic experience in college, took matters into her own hands. Frustrated with a legal system that often failed survivors, she founded Rise, an organization dedicated to advocating for their rights. Amanda's efforts led to significant legislative changes, including the unanimous passing of the Survivors’ Bill of Rights Act in 2016.

But that's not where Amanda's journey ends. Inspired by the overwhelming response from survivors worldwide, she broadened her advocacy, taking her cause to the United Nations. Recently, after years of hard work, the UN unanimously passed a resolution supporting the rights of sexual violence survivors.

Amanda's tenacity proves that even when the odds seem slim, personal connection and determination can make a world of difference. It prompts reflection on how life can throw unexpected curveballs, forcing us to reconsider our deepest aspirations. It compels us too to ponder how life's unexpected twists compel us to reassess our deepest dreams. The law, rules, and bill are not always right. People are taught to obey, but never to question what they're taught. So...break the rules. Break the law. Go beyond what you're taught. Education is just education. Challenge conventions. Question the law, rules, and bills. Explore beyond what's taught. Remember, education is just a foundation. The belief that laws and rules are infallible falters; instead, they often warrant scrutiny. The lesson ingrained is obedience, but never inquiry. Dare to shatter norms. Defy the system. Forge a path beyond the confines of convention. For education, though crucial, is but a starting point. It's the audacity to question that truly fuels enlightenment.
